Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Learn more about the Boxer.

Frannie, who is just eight months old, was rescued from Louisiana, where her previous owner kept her tied to a tree. After breaking loose, she was hit by a car. Her owner did not take her to the vet; instead, he re-chained this beautiful boxer to the same tree, where she remained until Animal Control picked her up. By that point her leg was too infected to be saved. Frannie has recently been vetted and is managing quite well on her three strong legs. From our previous experience, and with the vet’s assurances, we know that three-legged dogs can live long and healthy lives. Her new family will need to keep her lean, as more weight could cause hip problems. Frannie enjoys playing with her foster brother and sisters and loves to be next to her foster family. She is working on potty training and is a fast learner. While Frannie loves kids and other dogs, she has not been evaluated around cats. Frannie is a precious, sweet dog who so deserves a wonderful home where she will get lots of attention and love.
