Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Petunia here.......It’s now almost the end of November and I have found my way into a great foster home!  My foster mom reports that I’m house broken and am comfortable in my crate.  I‘m getting acclimated to my foster home....I’m a little shy but very curious.  I love to explore the house and welcome all the love and affection I can get!

My foster mom mom says that my former life probably wasn’t very good if she had to guess and consisted of many litters of puppies.  Those days are behind me now and it’s time for me to channel my inner puppy!  I’m enjoying my independence......love hanging with the kids and other dogs in my foster home.  My foster mom says that Im very calm and would do well in just about any home!

From Petunia’s transporter:  I am in love with this budding Petunia who will thrive and blossom under the care of LSBR. She is very timid and hesitant, but seemed to sit up straighter and hold her head a little higher with attention and encouragement. She did not hop into the car. I assisted her with getting into the car and she stayed on the floor the whole time. (She was just spayed which might affect her jumping). She was very well behaved and calm for the drive.  When I stood up to take a photo she followed me sitting next to me and putting her head in the crook of my arm for pets and hugs. She is a calm soul who I think will make a great addition to someone’s family.
