My name is Tippy........and I'm about 2 years old. My name is Tippy (better than tripod) because I had surgery to remove one of my hind legs. My foster mom calls me Zippy since I can zip around just fine. She says I zip more than I tip.

She says that I'm a warm and nurturing girl who greets everyone with a wiggling nub and slobbery kisses! I guess that's a good thing since everyone loves to meet me. I simply adore being around people, adults as well as children; however, my foster mom says that I would do best in a home with slightly older children that would understand my limitations.
I am house broken and crate trained. I can be trusted outside my crate and am not mischievous or destructive. I will sleep quietly in my crate while you are away. I am not afraid of the vacuum or other household noises. In fact, I am really comfy in a home environment. I am not afraid of thunderstorms either.
My foster mom says I am a smart girl and a little bit of a talker. I am not a big barker unless come one comes to the door and then I sound like a big dog with a deep bark. I know to stop when told to be quiet. I know some basic commands like 'sit', 'come' and 'lay down'. I am also a huge cuddle bug....I would love nothing more than to lay in your lap all day and give you kisses! My foster mom says that I'm eating well and putting on some needed weight. I am learning to trust my fur sister and brother around my food and favorite toys. I was really skinny when I was rescued by Lone Star Boxer Rescue so I had to protect my food and my puppies to survive.
When I first came to my foster home my foster mom was worried about me being about to go up and down stairs. I can zip both up and down without any problems. I prefer carpeted floors and stairs so I don't slip as much and a raised food and water bowl makes it easier for me to eat. I am playful, but not obnoxious. I can go for walks, but prefer short walks. I would rather play fetch with my toy. I like sitting in the sun and being outside when others are with me, but prefer the comforts of home.
I know that there is a special forever home for me out there...my foster mom says it will be a home where someone can see past my missing leg into my sweet heart. So, what do you say? Can you see a little zippy Tippy in your future?
