Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Hi! Do you like to play? Cuddle? Listen to Elvis? Scratch tummies? Go for leisurely walks? If so, then I am the dog for you and your family. I love to play, cuddle and give little kisses. I am good with children and other dogs. I've seen cats on TV and they seem nice enough, but I haven't met one in person. I am a huge Elvis fan and I think you'd agree that I would have looked great on one of his album covers for his songs ''Ain't Nothin' But a Hound Dog'' or ''Teddy Bear''.

I am about two years old, and although I see no reason to classify a great guy like me into a ''breed'', I know a lot of folks still like to know those things. My rescuer and vet think I am a mix of Basset/Beagle and Staffordshire Terrier. In my opinion, it's personality that counts, not lineage. and of course, good looks like mine don't hurt either.

My philosophy on life is ''Carpe Diem.'' I came so close to losing my life at the high kill facility that picked me up. My attitude is gratitude. I will shower you and your family with gratitude for all the good that found its way into my life when I was rescued.

Just so you know, I have completed heartworm treatment and am fully vetted and healthy. I am crate-trained and house-trained. I was very scared and shy, especially around men, when I was first rescued but my confidence has blossomed. Unfortunately, I knew pain and hurt from humans before I was rescued, but now I know that there are lots of good people too. Once I know you are safe and kind, my love and gratitude will overflow.

I don't know what else to tell you about me so let me end with one of my favorite Elvis lyrics: ''Please let me be your Teddy bear''!
