ADOPTION PENDING!
Hi all, Bella checking in! I have been with my new foster family for a whole day now, and let me tell ya, I am having a BLAST checking out the new digs! So many neat smells and things to see, like ducks, blue herons, and even a wonderful-smelling fishie that was floating in the water next to the pier. Fostermommy said I couldn’t go in and get it, no matter how much I whined.
So my foster parents totally don’t get why I was surrendered to a shelter for being “hyper.” I’m just a happy young boxer girl that likes to be with my people! Sure, I jump up (Fostermommy is working on that), and yeah, I love getting on the couch (Fostermommy’s working on that too). But I’m far from “hyper.” I’m not sure if I’m potty trained, or if my foster parents are trained so that they take me out every three hours, but I haven’t had any accidents in the house. Whatever works, right?
I am absolutely crate trained. I slept on my bed in my crate last night. It took me about 10 minutes to quit twirling around on my bed to get comfortable, but once I was out, I was OUT! I didn’t wake up until 7:30 this morning! I have taken a few naps in my crate today for about a half hour each. Fostermommy has to work and I keep trying to climb in her lap. But her desk is right next to my crate, so I’m still close by and content.
We went for a walk last night and again this morning. I walk well on a leash without pulling or stalling. We haven’t seen any other dogs walking their humans, so I can’t tell you how I react to other people out there. Also, there are no children or cats around here, so I don’t know how I might react to them yet.
I get along okay with my foster sister Zoe, but she’s an adult Labrador and just doesn’t have the same energy level as I do. She didn’t take too kindly to me trying to “box” with her, so now she just sits under the dining room table and watches. When we are outside on the patio, though, we lay down next to each other and we are fine. We did have a brief “conversation” about me getting too close to her empty food dish. Fostermommy said that she will be more careful about leaving food dishes on the floor, even if they are empty.
Well, that’s all for now. I’ll send more pics of my beautiful mug when Fosterdaddy takes me outside after it cools off.
