Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Learn more about the Boxer.

Fred is a four-year-old, deaf, white male boxer who loves to cuddle and play! He is over the moon about any sort of toy or treat, and he will play -even by himself - for hours. He can also be very quiet at times, and because he is deaf, he can sleep undisturbed for long naps after playtimes every day! He is slowly learning some sign language; he knows "sit" (at dinner mostly), and curb! Fred is crate trained, although he barks if he can see you while he is in his crate. Fred likes most other dogs, especially dogs that like to play hard! Fred wouldn't do well in a house with cats, or small children, because he can't hear when he is being repremanded. But what Fred misses in his hearing he makes up for with his big heart and happy smile. He is a very special, playful boy who desperately needs a family to be a part of! Doesn't he look like a good fit with yours?
