Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Hi!  My name is FENDER and I’ve recently joined my new Foster Family.  I think that I’m around 5 years old and oh yeah...I’m a boy.  I’m living in a home with two adult People and one female adult Boxer named SADIE.  We get along pretty good......it's allowing me to learn so much!  I'm learning to share my toys (which I love)!  I stay inside during the day except for when my Foster Mom & Dad take me for walks.  I LOVE WALKS!  I do pretty well on a leash and though I’m curious about my 4-legged friends, I don’t get out of control when they walk by me.  So far I’ve been really good about going to the bathroom outside.  I know this makes my Foster Mom & Dad very happy because they tell me what a Good Boy I am every time I “go” outside.   I also know how to sit and lay down.  Giving kisses is one of my favorite things to do.  I don’t really know that much about little kid people so I can’t really tell you how we would get along, but my Foster Mom thinks that I’m very affectionate so I might like little kids.  I haven’t met any cats yet but I’ll keep you posted.  You might like to know that I am neutered and pretty happy about that.  My Foster Mom thinks I’m super skinny – kinda like a Super Model.  My foster parents are helping me to gain some weight......which I like!  When it’s time to go to bed I have my very own crate.  Sometimes I cry a little bit when it’s time to go to sleep, but I'm getting used to it!  Well, that’s all I have to share for now.  I'm making such good progress with my foster family......I know there's the perfect forever family out there for me, and I'm anxiously awaiting them!
