Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Learn more about the Boxer.

I'm Xander, and I'm a small boy with a really big name! I'm a one year old lovable dog and I get along with EVERYONE!! I don't even think I've met a flea I didn't like — but on second thought, I don't have any fleas, so luckily I wouldn't know. My point is that I have personality PLUS! I love to snuggle and play. I have a gentle playfulness that is dog, kid and cat friendly. I have overheard my foster mom say I must have been the runt of the litter because I am so small ( I top the scale at 40 lbs), but I'm no runt, I'm just petite! I was in my 11th hour at Harris County Animal Control when LSBR saved my life. You see, my family surrendered me to Animal Control and I don't know why, other than they said they could not afford me. I don't understand because I'm small, so I don't take up much space, I don't eat much and I'm a good quiet boy in my crate. I'm house trained and I'm good about letting my foster family know when I need out. I was just so happy when I got to go home from the shelter to a real home that wanted me. I thought my other family wanted me and I really miss them, so I never want to go through that again. I'm not afraid to say that I want a forever home. If you want a cute little Boxer Boy to be by your side FOREVER, then I'm your dog!!
